Work Bond

NHC is a 100% volunteer-led hockey program across a wide range of levels. We count on our members to volunteer in order for the program to be successful. NHC has instituted a Work Bond Program to encourage the parents of our players to volunteer to help maintain our program.

How are work bonds being collected?
For the 26-27 season, the work bond will be $100. During registartion, you can agree to volunteer during the season or you can chooes to pay the work bond now. Anyone who does not volunteer and pays with credit card will have the $100 work bond automatically charged at the end of the season. All other registrants, and anyone choosing to pay registration with check, must issue an additional check made out to Nazareth Hockey Club and give it to the Team Parent or NHC Board Member prior to your child getting on the ice. Collection opportunities are:

What if I choose not to volunteer?
If you do not volunteer, your credit card will be automatically charged $100 or your $100 check will be cashed at the end of the season. However, we do not view the Work Bond as a revenue source, so we would prefer you volunteer to help the organization and satisfy your family’s Work Bond.

What if I only fulfill part of the work bond?
If you only partially complete the work bond requirements, the work bond will be forfeited.

Examples of volunteer opportunities will satisfy Work Bond obligations:

1.  Complete one volunteer role during the 2026-2027 season:

volunteers sit in the scorer’s box to operate the scoreboard and record the scoresheet
  • Volunteer for fundraiser event - assist with fundraiser event, 1 hour per 1 volunteer activity
Example - 3 hours handing out apparel from online store = completed work bond
  • Equipment container cleanup - assist with organizing and cleaning the container as needed before, during, and after the season as well as transport gear to Play it
      Again Sports for sale.
  • End of season party - assist team parent with coordinating party at the end of season, 1 hour per 1 volunteer activity
